Does F8 Rentals require security deposits?
For our first time rental customers,we do require a security deposit. It is a percentage of the total value of your rental. After you have completed your reservation, we will advise you of the security deposit amount.
Where do I pick up and return my rental?
When you make your reservation, you may choose to pickup your equipment at either of our locations. The Reston location is across from Reston Town Center at 11703 Bowman Green Drive, Reston VA 20190. The phone number is 703-382-9000. The Washington DC location is in the National Press Building at 529 14th St. NW Washington, DC 20045. You can reach the DC location at 202-797-7000.
I cannot make a Saturday or Sunday Reservation?
When booking online, you will need to click on that weekend’s Friday date for pick up and Monday’s date for the return. But no worries, that’s still considered a 1-day rental. We are closed on weekends, but if you have an emergency, please do email or call us, we’re ALWAYS ready to help.
When I reserve the equipment, I get the wrong price.
This can happen if you are renting for a longer period than one day (24 hour) or for the weekend. No worries, just complete the reservation to log you in for the dates. Please email email@example.com, and we will correct the amount and resend you a corrected invoice.
What if I need to pick up on the weekend?
Still make the reservation for a normal weekend rental. You can either call or email us and we can make arrangements (firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-382-9000 and leave a message). We will get back to you. Also, there is a “Note Field” located at the bottom of your booking where you can provide details. We would like to get as much advance notice as possible to make sure everything is taken care of. But as with anything in life, we understand things come up, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
What if I need to pick up and return somewhere else?
We will do everything we can to work with you. Usually there are fees associated with this process. Please email email@example.com if you need special arrangements.
I want to reserve gear for multiple weekends over several months?
You can make as many reservations over a period of up to 6 months in advance. Each one must be done separately for a given date. They do not need to be pre-paid.
Do you provide insurance?
Currently, we do not, but will have something in place soon.
What if I have my own insurance?
Have your insurance agent list f8 Rentals as a Loss Payee on a rider to the policy and they can either mail us a copy or email it to us 48 hours prior to the rental pick up so we have time to make corrections if any are needed.
Can I just email you my request?
Yes you can! Just send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can take care of it for you. If you are a first time renter, we will need basic information as well: first and last name, phone number, email address, street address. And of course, the start and end date and the type of equipment is needed.
When do I make the payment?
When you make the reservation online, you will be sent an invoice with a payment link. You are welcome to make payment at that time, or at anytime prior to picking up the gear. All rentals must be paid before pick up.
What is an f8 Rentals satellite location?
We have several locations around the DC metro area where, for an additional fee, you can pick up and/or return your rental. These locations are: Pilot Imaging Rockville, MD Union 206 Studios, Alexandria, VA Haymarket, VA
I need someone else to pick up the rental.
We will require from you, in advance, the full name and phone number of the person picking up your rental. They should have on them a valid driver’s license or photo ID (which we will either photocopy or handwrite the information). Your rental must be prepaid prior to the pick up.
